Position - Merchandiser (Fashion).

Fidelis Fashion Sourcing is an apparel and fashion sourcing company based in Beyoglu, Istanbul. We work mainly with UK and European customers. We have an outstanding supply base and aim to deliver the highest level of standards and services to our customers.

We have an opening for an experienced Merchandiser.

Please note the successful candidate will work very closely with a UK, English speaking staff member based in the office. Excellent English is a must.

Candidates should have “Liaison office” experience having worked for well-known, quality-oriented UK customers.

Responsibilities

Working with mainly UK, and some European customers.

Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Manage the Development Process for sampling for customers.

Have the ability to understand what customers require, understand their “handwriting” and work with suppliers to deliver exactly that.

A keen Interest in fashion trends able to support buyers and designers.

Critical Path Management of orders.

This is an essential part of the sourcing office process. It requires careful monitoring and a proactive approach to ensure orders are delivered on time and any potential issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

Business minded.

See your work as a Merchandiser from a business point of view. Understand the financial aspects in terms of costs, turnover, pricing, margin.

You must be a Problem solver.

We deal with issues all the time. You must be able to confront problems directly, deal with complex situations and work with people and suppliers to find solutions.

Proactive approach.

Planning ahead and understanding problems before they happen is a very important skill. Starting tasks immediately rather than leaving to the last minute.

Requirements

Excellent written and spoken English.

Minimum 10 years’ experience.

Several years working with UK customers.

Very Detailed.

Excellent Power Point Presentation skills.

Technical knowledge of fabrics and garments.

Knowledge of a wide range of product categories.

Positive attitude. Always.

Problem solving mindset.

Proactive approach, rather than reactive.

Flexible.

Can build great relationships with customers and suppliers.

Energy and eagerness to “get things done”.
